Here is a simple peach cobble recipe for a camp Dutch oven. This recipe gives you that classic oven cobbler crust. You can substitute any fruit in place of the peaches to get any type of cobbler you like.
Ingredients
1 c. | Pre-mixed baking mix (i.e. Bisquick) |
1 c. | Milk |
2 c. | Sugar |
2-29 oz cans | Peaches |
To Taste | Nutmeg |
To Taste | Cinnamon |
Directions
1. | Mix first baking mix, milk, nutmeg, & cinnamon together and place in Dutch oven |
2. | Mix peaches & sugar and place in Dutch oven, do not mix |
3. | Place pats of butter evenly on top of the mixture |
4. | Set Dutch oven over 8-10 coals |
5. | Place 18-20 coals on top of Dutch oven |
6. | Rotate lid and pot ever 15 minutes |
Check the cobbler regularly. I usually check it every time I rotate the lid. Remove from heat when the crust is golden brown.
Serve with vanilla ice cream! YUM!!
